About Us

Adam  Cove

Adam started his career at 16 years of age, riding for Cyril Light at "Brendon Stud" just outside of Brighton. He went on to base himself at Peter Charles's yard, where he learned his trade as a rider and gained a wealth of experience  which he took with him when he  went on to become stable jockey at "Headley Stud" near Newbury in Berkshire. During this time he went over to compete in Spain on the sunshine tour.

Adam then went on to spend two exciting years in Germany at the famous "Schockemohle's" stable, where he was assistant jockey to the then protégé of Franke Sloothlak. During this time he assisted in two PSI sales,  and then decided it was the right time to move back to England  and set up on his own with a very good owner Susan Lajitha.

Adam then, along with other horses, produced "Wonderboy III", who is currently jumping on the young rider team with Georgie Strutton, to a placing in the six year old final on the sunshine tour.

free schoolingNow he has set up a yard with his partner Rhian. where they both use their knowledge and skills to produce horses to the highest of standards, hopefully including their current stallions along the way. See the gallery for more pictures.

Rhian John

Rhian started riding before she could walk, having grown up on a farm on the outskirts of the Brecon beacons in South Wales.

She first started work in a racing yard in South Wales, work riding for Bernard Llewellyn. Riding the horses on the gallops and schooling over fences and increasing their fitness levels in order to prepare them for their races. She then went to work in the Cotswolds, grooming and riding for an event rider. Whilst there she learned how to break and produce horses the right way.

Rhian then went on to work in the world of show jumping, starting out as a groom/work rider and then progressed on to stable jockey for New Zealand rider Grant Cashmore who was based just near Guildford in Surrey.

A job too good to turn down then presented itself, just down the road in Sussex where she spent the next four and a half years riding for a Norwegian family called Kristin and Morten Aasen, who own the famous stallion "Animo". During this time, breaking and producing the youngstock from him and competing them until they were sold on and being trained during the four and a half years by both Morten himself and William Funnell.
